Step 1: Choose the Right Website-Building Approach

There’s no single “best” way to build a website—it depends on your goals, budget, and how much time you’re willing to invest.

Here are four ways to create a website, ranked from easiest to most hands-on:

1️⃣ Website Builders – Best for Beginners

Website builders like Wix, Squarespace, and Weebly are perfect for beginners who want a quick, no-fuss approach. These platforms include hosting, templates, and drag-and-drop editors, making them super easy to use.

Pros: No technical skills needed, fast setup, mobile-friendly designs. ❌ Cons: Limited customization, monthly fees, harder to scale.

Best for: Personal websites, portfolios, and small business sites.

2️⃣ WordPress – The Best DIY Option

Over 40% of all websites run on WordPress, and for good reason. It’s free, highly customizable, and scalable.

If you go with WordPress, here’s what you’ll need:

Buy a domain name (e.g., www.yoursite.com) ✅ Choose web hosting (Bluehost, SiteGround, or Hostinger) ✅ Install WordPress (most hosts offer one-click installation) ✅ Pick a theme & start building!

Pros: Fully customizable, great for SEO, thousands of plugins. ❌ Cons: Has a learning curve, requires maintenance.

3️⃣ AI Website Builders – The Fastest Option

AI-powered website builders create a website for you in minutes—just answer a few questions, and the AI does the rest.

Some popular AI website builders include:

🤖 Durable AI – Creates a website in 30 seconds. 🤖 10Web – Uses AI to generate a WordPress site instantly. 🤖 Framer AI – Great for modern, stylish websites.

Pros: Fast setup, no design skills needed, AI-generated content. ❌ Cons: Less customization than WordPress, higher costs.

4️⃣ Hiring a Freelancer – The Hands-Off Approach

If you’d rather skip the tech stuff, you can hire a freelancer on Fiverr, Upwork, or PeoplePerHour to build your website.

Pros: Saves time, no tech headaches, professional design. ❌ Cons: Expensive, may need to pay for updates later.

💡 Pro Tip: Make sure your freelancer gives you access to login details and a guide on how to update your site.

Best for: Business owners who want a done-for-you website but still want to manage it later.

💡 My First Website Experience: DIY vs. Fiverr

When I built my first website, I had no clue where to start. So, I hired a freelancer on Fiverr. It was great—until I needed to make small changes and had to keep paying for every tweak.

That’s when I decided to learn WordPress. It took some trial and error (and late-night tutorials), but once I figured it out, I could update my site anytime without waiting on someone else.

If I could go back, I’d probably still hire a freelancer—but I’d also learn enough to manage the site myself.

🚀 Your Next Steps: Build Your Website Today

✔️ Want a beginner-friendly option? Use Wix or Squarespace. ✔️ Want full control? Follow this WordPress Guide. ✔️ Need a site fast? Try an AI-powered builder. ✔️ Rather pay someone? Hire a freelancer on Fiverr.

Don’t overthink it—just start. Your website is your digital home, and the sooner you launch, the sooner you can grow.
